Jacksonville, IL Poster – Maroon/Blue
I was asked to create a poster for an open house event for the Jacksonville Area Business Chamber. They mentioned the old city postcards you see as the inspiration, but to make it my own.
With that in mind, I focused on what Jacksonville is most famous for and that is they are home to 'Big Eli' and one of the first companies to start building ferris wheels after the World Fair. I then added some of the unique buildings around town to create a skyline at the bottom and some of the turkey vultures that fill the skies during the days. I added texture to the print, to make it feel like it was created on an old letter press. Providing two color options at the event.
The third poster was provide an option for all the small rural communities that were also part of the Area Chamber, but did not call Jacksonville home. This poster was intended to show pride in the farming industry that provided so much to our area.
